Derek has a lifelong passion for country sports and the shooting industry. With years of experience and dedication, he regularly participates in pheasant, partridge, and rough shooting, always enjoying the traditions and skills that come with the sport.

His enthusiasm is something he shares with his family—both of his young sons are already showing a strong interest and are beginning to follow in his footsteps.

Derek is also the proud owner and trainer of three cocker spaniels. Watching them work in the field is one of his greatest pleasures, and their training and performance are a true reflection of his commitment to the sporting lifestyle.

As a personal member of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and a trade member of the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation, Derek is actively involved in supporting and promoting best practice across the industry. His knowledge, passion, and dedication make him a trusted figure in the community and a strong advocate for the future of the sport.
